A Voodoo TV Spot Just in Time for Mardi Gras

February 13, 2014 1 min read

Sertinos Café has a dark, mysterious, silky and full-bodied coffee that is appropriately named the Voodoo. Americom created a web and print ad to showcase this coffee some months ago and it stirred up some interest, even from regular customers. Our new TV spot takes the ad to another level of sensory overload with some sultry voice over, dark and smoky camera work and a little late night jazz mixed in. We are thrilled to have the new spot out, just in time for Mardi Gras and Valentine's.

"I am a self-admitted coffee snob. I like dark coffee with nothing else in it so when I first came to Sertinos in '06 or '07, and I saw this on the menu, I had to try it. I drank it exclusively for the next 6 months, wide awake! So when the opportunity came to promote a specific drink, and not just Sertinos coffee in general, I put my vote in for the Voodoo...while holding a cup in my hand," says Lance LaRue. While LaRue scripted and storyboarded it out, Chad Campbell painted the perfect coffee cup. "With close-ups and that kind of contrast with lighting, I knew we had to make this look good," says Campbell.

Kudos to Jessie & Stephen at Moore Creative for stellar camera and editing work. The shots make it inviting, but their smoke and effects make it happen. We look forward to seeing the spot in multiple markets soon.
