Americom Marketing began in 2000 with a vision to bridge the gap between traditional media advertising and digital marketing. We’ve worked hard, expanded, and hit milestones for twenty years, but this fall of 2021 marks a monumental achievement in recognizing the growth and continued development of our company.
The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce has named Americom Marketing the Robert Swerdlow Award of “Small Business of the Year.”
The award was announced at the Chamber’s annual meeting at the Beaumont Civic Center following a keynote address by none other than Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, who touted many encouraging stats and insights about the economy of Texas. He deftly highlighted the economic power of Southeast Texas in particular with several rounds of applause.
The honor was presented to company President Charlie Cooper, who founded Americom Marketing over 20 years ago in Beaumont.
“This honor is special to me and the team,” says Cooper. “We’ve been blessed to win awards over the years for our results and recognition in video, designs, ecommerce, and marketing…but this speaks to how we do business. The Chamber does such a tremendous job of connecting businesses and nurturing growth in our area, and they stand for values, integrity, and quality. So it means a lot to me to receive this award and it’s here in our hometown.”
The evening highlighted new coming businesses, past award-winners, and hosted a wonderful dinner. The distinguished award for the large business of the year, The Spindletop Award, was presented to Jason’s Deli. The 40+ year-old restaurant giant has locations across the country is known for its famous menu, healthy salad bar, Muffalata sandwich, and New York style deli, but Jason’s is also known for their philanthropic work and charitable service.
Jason’s Deli started in Beaumont and grew fast and deliciously, and its headquarters are still here along the Neches, just a few miles down the road from Americom Marketing’s. Last year’s winner, ExxonMobil, presented the award and honored the late Mr. Tortorice.
“It was really good to see Jason’s get recognition for all they do. It’s an honor to be listed alongside their names in the program,” Cooper says. “Plus, Jason’s Deli sandwiches and salads have routinely been a part of our conferences and meetings. When we have guests from out of town come in for meetings or projects, we’re always proud to share a meal and claim Jason’s as a Beaumont business.”
Being a small business in today’s market is riddled with challenges, but also full of exciting opportunities. Americom Marketing makes is a point to seek new ways to reach audiences and get clicks, get orders, and get busy for our clients and their customers. The Robert Swerdlow Small Business of the Year honor is remarkably rewarding for us, but it also inspires all of the Americom Marketing team to continue to work passionately, to use our talents and tools, and serve as best we can.
We look forward to more milestones as we create and represent brands locally, regionally, and beyond.
